15th August India Day Participation

Dear MMCPA community members,

We all are going through unprecedented times and we hope and pray for everyone’s safety. Considering the uncertainty created by COVID 19, AIACPA has been celebrating India Day virtually.
They have broadcasted two 30 minute each virtual entertainment events on May 16th and June 21st. On August 15th, AIACPA is planning to broadcast the main event “INDIA’s CULTURAL DIVERSITY” (India day parade).

Every year, MMCPA members actively participate in the India day parade to showcase rich Maharashtrian culture.  MMCPA board along with community members is working on recording the 3-4 mins clip for the Aug 15th India day program. The theme decided is to showcase the “पंढरपूर वारी”. Details of the program are being discussed and finalized.
We are reaching out to you all to see if you or your family is interested in participating. We are looking for Kids, Individuals and Families that can dress up in traditional attire and act/dance on the selected song.

Please reach out to Swapna Dighe if you would like to participate in this event.

Gudhi Padwa

Namaskaar Mandali,

The MMCPA has started the 2020 New Year with a bang!

Very recent proof is the Sankrant event earlier. Kudos to all organizing members and attendees for such a great event!

Here is yet another opportunity to continue the trend !

As per the tradition, we will celebrate the Gudi Padwa function at the HARI Temple on Saturday, March  28th, 2020.

Marathi families have been sponsoring this meal for past several years. I am very proud to mention that over the past several years, we have enjoyed a BIG attendance for this dinner, almost close to 500+ people!

This has been possible only due to generous support from all of you. I am hoping to have the same support this year as well.

This year, we are planning the menu as follows:

Polya
Papad
Pickle
Saadhaa Bhaat
potato-peas (dry bhajee)
 palak daal
Koshimbeer (yogurt-based, kakadee-gajar-tomato mixed)
 Gulab Jamoon.

If you could let me know about the item (5-6 families needed for each item) you would like to contribute from the above menu by March 20th, it would help greatly to plan the meal.

If you wish, you can pledge monetary support to sponsor polya ($25-30/family, 7-8 families total).

I can be reached by email at leena.pattarkine@gmail.com. I will get in touch with you as soon as possible once I receive your email.

Looking forward to your GENEROUS support in making this happen successfully yet again,

Thanks,
On Behalf of all the Marathi families,
Leena Pattarkine
