Our Mission

MMCPA, legally registered as MAHARASHTRA MANDAL OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving and bringing together the Marathi-speaking and Maharashtrian community in Central Pennsylvania.

Our mission is to preserve, promote, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage, traditions, language, arts, values, and customs of Maharashtra while creating opportunities for individuals and families to connect, socialize, and build a strong and inclusive community.

Throughout the year, MMCPA organizes a variety of cultural, social, educational, and community-focused programs and events. These activities provide opportunities for community members of all ages to come together, celebrate important festivals and traditions, share cultural experiences, showcase local talent, and strengthen their connection with Maharashtrian heritage. Our programs include a variety of Marathi and Indian festivals celebrations, sports activities for all ages and other cultural and community events.

We are especially committed to encouraging younger generations to learn about and appreciate their Marathi and Maharashtrian heritage. Through cultural programs, performances, educational activities, language and traditional experiences, and opportunities for community participation, we strive to help preserve these traditions and pass them on to future generations.

MMCPA also provides a platform for members of the community to share their talents, participate in cultural and social activities, develop meaningful relationships, and support one another. We welcome individuals and families who are new to the Central Pennsylvania area and seek opportunities to connect with others, establish friendships, and become part of a vibrant local community.

As part of our cultural and educational mission, MMCPA also seeks to promote awareness and understanding of the teachings, philosophies, traditions, and ideas associated with Hinduism and Indian culture. We aim to encourage learning, cultural appreciation, and respectful dialogue while fostering an environment that is welcoming and inclusive to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Through our programs and community activities, MMCPA strives to preserve our cultural identity, strengthen community connections, encourage participation and volunteerism, support local talent, and create opportunities for people to come together, learn, celebrate, and grow.

Our goal is to build a strong, connected, and sustainable community that honors its cultural roots while creating meaningful experiences and opportunities for present and future generations.
